WELCOME!
Lydia has been a practicing clinician for over 25 years, a clinical
supervisor for over 9 years and a teacher in graduate settings for over 7 years.
Lydia has worked in three different cultures (Israel, South Africa
and Canada) and in a variety of settings, from the non profit sector,
hospitals, clinics, the academia and the army to the private sector.
The above have equipped her with the life experience, knowledge and
skills to benefit my clients which have included women and men of all ages,
socio-economic status, of a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds and
differing gender and sexual orientations. Lydia works and continues to do so with
individuals, couples, groups (lay and professional), students and clinicians
in the field of mental health.
The qualities she brings to her therapeutic, supervisory and academic
work are passion in making change possible and the ability to hold on to hope,
the ability to promote negotiation and collaboration rather than power over,
the ability to balance support and empathy for people’s suffering with the
need to promote growth and hold self and clients accountable for their words
and actions, and the ability to see the big picture as well as working with
the details of the possibility to change.
Lydia is also a member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
Values Counselling
